Dennis and Nan Allen have written a special Christmas piece with the option of including children for a multigenerational effect. The text ponders why God chose a single star to announce Jesus' birth when more extravagant means could have been used. The music is set in 3/4 with a feeling of "one," and the melody and harmonies are simple to learn. A middle section allows the adult choir to sing independently if desired. The piece concludes in unison after the optional children's choir rejoins the chorus. A separate children's part (lead sheet) is included.
