For Unison/Two-Part Voices with Piano and Tambourine
Arranger: Michael Bedford
Based on a traditional Hasidic melody, this anthem provides an opportunity for the study of sacred music from the Hebrew culture. Although composed for two-part choir, this piece works well when the melody is sung in unison without the second part. A fairly simple tambourine part adds rhythmic color, accentuating the driving piano accompaniment. The original text by the composer is especially appropriate for an Introit or Call to Worship but also serves nicely as a general praise anthem.
