Commissioned by the University of Michigan Men's Glee Club. This Megan Levad text centers on World War 1 and the United States joining the Allies fighting there. It remembers our young people who gave their lives in the meadows, hills and towns of Europe. This is a "war poem" in the form of a larger sonnet, but one that takes a larger historical perspective than simply focusing on "the war to end all wars." The music ends with an expression of joy coming from the poet's metaphysical view that The Good is always possible.
