A Trip to the Zoo was composed for Daniel Wallenberg and the Rogers Park and Humboldt Park neighborhood choirs of the Chicago Children's Choir. The four pieces in the set (Wordy Birdies, The Elephant, Snake Eyes, and Monkey Business) are keyboard-accompanied rounds (3- and 4-part) with original lyrics. Each piece runs between 2.5 and 3.5 minutes. Intended for children's ensembles, some performances have been enhanced by the addition of simple "choreography" developed by the director along with the participating children.
