Adapting the words of the evening hymn, "Before the Ending of the Day," this rich choral anthem wraps the singer and listener in the warmth of God's love with a confident plea for His grace, peace, and protection. This piece was the winner of the 2022 Richard Hillert Award in Student Composition. It is a gorgeous addition to any evening service or concert or can be used for hope and comfort.

Before the ending of the day, O Lord, we pray
Thy grace and peace to us; be our guide and stay
From terrors of the night, from evil dreams,
That the stain of sin we may not know.
O Father, this we ask be done through Jesus Christ,
Your Son, who with the Holy Spirit both lives and reigns forevermore.
Amen.
