This is a laidback recasting of a portion of the hymn "Prepare the Royal Highway" with a new melody. The lilting melody and harmonically rich accompaniment is tuneful and memorable. The text highlights the coming of the King Jesus and works perfectly for Advent and Palm Sunday. This piece is available in several voicing options: SATB, SA, and TBB.

His is no earthly kingdom;
It comes from heaven above.
His rule is peace and freedom
And justice, truth, and love.
So let your praise be sounding
For kindness so abounding
Oh, blest is He that came
In God the Father's name!

Prepare the royal highway;
The King of kings is near;
Let ev'ry hill and valley
A level road appear!
Then greet the King of Glory
Foretold in sacred story:
Oh, blest is He that came
In God the Father's name!
