Mark Edwards has written a new tune for a classic text. The lowered 7th scale degree produces a distinct and stately sound. Careful part-writing throughout yields nice choral opportunities. The second stanza allows for unison singing by both the SA and TB parts, while the final stanza is regal and rich in choral texture. The ending features a voice-layering effect that feels majestic and triumphant. Available separately is a brass orchestration (score and parts for Trumpet 1 & 2, Trombone 1* & 2, Tuba, Percussion, and Timpani). (*Horn in F substitute part is included.)
