SATB/a cappella and Solo
Arranger: Michael Barrett
This is a piece about "lobola"-the method in which traditional cultures pay for their brides (usually with cattle and herd: the prettier the wife, the more cows the family will demand). In this interpretation, two guys are interested in the same girl, so they try to "out bid" each other by singing (hence the music rising up by a tone each time). At the end, a third singer joins-he is not from the same culture, but also likes the bride in question.
