Whether in a soulful jazz idiom, a rhythmic gospel style, or a more traditional setting, the emotive power of each of these eight anthems is palpable. That these selections speak to the heart on a very personal level is a credit to the rich source material and the craftsmanship of such choral luminaries as Lloyd Larson, Mary McDonald, Douglas E. Wagner, Linda Spevacek, John Purifoy, and Terry Kirkland. The titles range in difficulty from the very easy two-part mixed to the more challenging SSAB voicing and are, in total, a tremendous economic value for any choir that wishes to depict the strong, heartfelt commitment expressed in these moving arrangements.
