Doug Wagner has created a stirring setting of the well-known, yet seldom heard, Easter text recounting Mary's journey to Christ's tomb on the dawn of that fateful day. The accompaniment mirrors the quiet, reflective nature of the scene as Mary slowly makes her way to the tomb, silently weeping over the events three days before. Here the angels welcome her with 'Alleluias' as they sing the news that 'Christ is risen, as He said.' An optional part for handbells (12 bells) is included in the score
