arr. Charles Maggs
3 octaves, Level EM
One Christmas carol is still well-known and popular today that dates back to before Bach's time, and that is the hymn tune "In dulci jubilo". This old melody has been given a spirited and dynamic setting that helps to bring out the animated nature of the melody. The tune's nature is further underscored in the piece's middle section with the use of alternating rhythm patterns that are peppered with rests. The work makes a delightful anthem, offertory, postlude or concert piece. Also available from Genesis Press (GP 1025 ).
