arr. Charles Maggs
3 octaves, Level EM
The bold, stately character of this early American melody has been highlighted in several different ways in this accessible setting. Rising and falling chord progressions are used to underscore the hymn tune in the first section, followed by a section of rhythmic punctuation. The work is suitable for postlude, anthem or offertory use. This quartet arrangement of the traditional hymn comes complete with performance notes and special instructions. Only 35 measures in length and suited for the beginning quartetists. Also available from Genesis Press (GP 1017 ).
