arr. Charles Maggs
3 octaves, Level M
The familiar Christmas carol "Angels We Have Heard On High" has been given a setting that mirrors the exuberant nature of the melody. The higher two parts use four-in-hand technique exclusively to propel the verses forward as well as to energize the bell peal-like character of the choruses, while the lower two parts alternately use ostinato patterns and harmonic sequences to provide a constantly moving underpinning. The selection is an excellent Christmas service postlude or addition to any Christmas program.
