Details: Solo Organ
Contents: Vincent Luebeck (his father was also named Vincent, and his son was named Vincent in his turn) was born in Padingbuettel (near Bremen, Germany) in September of 1654. He had a great reputation as organist, composer, teacher, and expert. Bach heard him play at the Saint Nicolas Church in Hamburg when he visited the city in his youth (the organ of this church was one of the most beautiful in the world, built by the renowned Arp Schnitger; sadly, it was destroyed in the Allied bombing of Hamburg in 1942). Luebeck held his position at Saint Nicolas Church until his death, on February 9, 1740.
