The ethereal harmonies of the Prelude paint a musical picture that is hauntingly beautiful. A soaring melodic line is heard over lush, sustained harmonies which are characteristic of the impressionistic works of Debussy. In the Jubilee, the organ part dances jauntily against a driving 3+3+2rhythm that is heard in the piano part. The interplay between instruments is captivating, but requires competent performers. The movements may be performed individually in a worship service, if desired. Performed together, they are well-suited for service or recital. Two copies required for performance.
