By Bradley Ellingboe
Written for SATB Voices (divisi)
Accompanied by harp and oboe, the words and music of this heartfelt Christmas cantata are a joy to sing and hear. Written for SATB voices (divisi) the voice parts are melodic and easily learned, yet combine for magical effect capturing both the mystery and joy of Jesus' birth. Six moving movements include a song of welcome, a lullaby for the Christ child, songs of joy (including Longfellow's "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day") and a postlude prayer. Separate oboe score and reproducible lyrics included.
