This hymn favorite is set in "gospel swing feel", beginning slowly and simply, but progressing in tempo and complexity throughout. Rhythms are syncopated and challenging, but repetitious in the varied section. Melody and jazz accompaniment duties are divided nicely between handbell sections so everyone shares in the fun. The piece calls for mallets, quick TD/R's, echoes (for handchimes) and lots of chordal accuracy in rhythms. Ringers and audiences will love it all.
