"A Winter Scene" is based on the Gustav Holst tune CRANHAM and Christina Rossetti's poem "In the Bleak Midwinter" - beginning as an impressionistic and literal presentation of the poem's first stanza: yearning for the Savior to be born. This lovely, gentle piece finishes in a major key in celebration of the prophecy fulfilled. Orchestrated for 4-6 octaves handbells with many optional instruments: 3 oct. handchimes, 3 oct.
