This original work is complex in structure, mood, technical requirements and difficulty. The composer calls for "mysteriously solemn", "driving" versus "flowing", "smooth" versus "bold", and tempo changes that allow these directions. Rhythms are challenging with fast sections in 13/8, subdivided into repetitious patterns that are consistent throughout. The slower sections for optional chimes offer drastic contrasts. This is an exciting but challenging work for advanced ringers.
