This arrangement has been written for the Raleigh Ringers for 3-6 octaves of handbells and optional flute or choir chimes (A separate score is available for the flute). The sweet carols by Kirkpatrick and Murray are set against several textures of accompaniment. The opening uses LV and broken chords; a slightly faster section ensues with the chimes in the middle on the melody surrounded by chordal and broken-chord accompaniment. Still more energy is applied to the next section that is fuller and more chordal, and things continue to build with a strong final section that adds a slower, calmer tag for the ending.
