This commissioned, original composition by Paul McKlveen is more than correctly titled! The meter is 8/8 with the accents occurring in a 3:3:2 pattern. Above these shifted accents is a syncopated melody with a Spanish dance flare. The middle section can be defined as an extended transition between another statement of the initial theme. Here there are changing meter and tempo that build toward the final section.
