The simple familiar tune by James Macbeth Bain (often paired with the text "The Lord's My Shepherd") is introduced with a lush, sustained singing bell chord. The second verse is supported with an easy alternating 8th note accompaniment, then suspended mallets and, near the end, fuller chords that strengthen the theme. Written as an introduction to singing bell, all ringers from C3 to B5 experience "singing" one bell for the opening section while ringers from C6-C7 (or a belltree or a 4iH duet) play the melody. The score also includes ringing options in case singing bell is not used (i.e. if all chimes are used or if singing sticks are not available). An article on making and using singing sticks is also included. Perfect for a thoughtful moment in worship, concert and festival, your ringers and audiences alike will enjoy the unusual and contrasting accompaniments used throughout.
