Swing Low, Sweet Chariot is a slow, gospel-like setting of the beloved spiritual that alternates between the gospel "swing" rhythms and faster, malleted rhythms. A center section is based on the happy and rhythmic spiritual, Plenty Good Room, providing contrast and utilizing optional handchimes. With the alternation between the two spirituals, ringers are given the opportunity to ring with precision and energy while paying close attention to dynamics and expressive ringing – and having great fun in the process!
