Two themes form the body of this fervent devotional expression. One moves in single voice eight notes in both soprano and tenor registers. The second is a hymn-like tune of striking simplicity. Both themes are accompanied by blocked or broken chords, often sustained by LV indications. The challenge of this piece lies in the balance needed between melody and accompaniment in long, sustained sections. Rhythm and notes are easily learned, accidentals are few, and there is one key change, from F to D flat.
