The famous piano work by Beethoven translates beautifully into this handbell quartet. Playing it will require rhythmical accuracy and careful coordination since ringers occasionally share handbells. It is written in 12/8 meter and often uses three against four beat subdivision. There are numerous accidentals. It is a fine study in tonal balance and dynamic expression.
