"The Angel Gabriel"--a traditional Basque Carol examining Mary's wonder at bearing the Christ Child - is exquisitely arranged (Level 2) for 2 (A1), 4 (A2) and 3 or 5 (B) octaves. The "A" Scores are compatible. Played in a single pulse ¾ time, the song moves quickly yet doesn't feel rushed. A bass ostinato part maintains a calm undertone, while the lilting melody is introduced as a clean unison line. In the middle section, the treble strengthens with chords and the bass line becomes more active. An optional repeat swells and adds more notes in the treble. Appropriate for Advent or Christmas - worship, concert and festival - "The Angel Gabriel" adds a wonderful medieval note to the joyous season. This folio offers 2 oct. (A1) and 4 oct. (A2) scores which are compatible – and a 3-5 oct. (B) score in a different key, allowing for flexibility on the available range of bells and the number of ringers available. Depending on available ringers and bells, Trebles can even play from one "A" score and Bass ringers from the other "A" Score. Your ringers will enjoy ringing this interesting, regal tune; simple yet strong, full of movement and reverence.
